Trigger. Suicide leaves in it’s wake a huge amount of pain. It is harder to grieve for a suicide than a natural death “I’ve got a taste it’s biitter on my tongue”. The song is trying to tell the story of those left behind. It’s an appeal to anyone who might think of checking out that if someone pulls the trigger (a metaphor for killing themselves), they are in fact causing all those they leave behind to bleed from the deep would suicide leaves in those left behind. “I’m tired baby. I’m tired of breathing for you” in the bridge also offers a glimpse of how hard it is to try and keep a suicide prone person safe. How deeply tiring it is.
